Just as with food, the quantity and quality of the drinks are important for your health and the achievement of your goal. Basically, we recommend covering most of your fluid needs with water. For extra variety you can also add fruit and vegetable slices to your water such as lemon, ginger, or cucumber. Unsweetened tea and coffee are fine too. Note the extra milk in the coffee provides extra calories. If you are using milk, use the low-fat version (1.5% fat). If you don’t drink dairy, choose an unsweetened plant-based milk.
